Polyester-Epoxy Hybrid (HB series)

Papillon’s Polyester Epoxy powder coating is a hybrid thermosetting powder based on epoxy and polyester resins. It can be formulated in various type of finishing ranging from satin to glossy appearance or smooth to structural finished.

They are fast curing whilst retaining good flow and gloss properties combined with good adhesion to a variety of substrates. They are not suitable for exterior use where the coated articles are exposed to continuous sunlight.

PRETREATMENT
To maximize film properties like adhesion, corrosion resistance and impact resistance, the substrates must be properly cleaned and surface conversion.

APPLICATION
Papillon’s Polyester Epoxy Powder can be use with all corona type spray equipment which can provide a negative tension of 60 – 80 kV. Upon request, the Polyester Epoxy Powder can also be formulated to suit all tribo spray equipment.

FILM THICKNESS & STOVING SCHEDULE
Film thickness : 60-80 micron
Stoving Schedule : 180°C metal temperature for 10 minutes

Specific Gravity :
1.40 – 1.70 (depending on colours and finishing)

Theoretical Coverage :
9 – 11 m²/kg at 60 micron
Depending on specific gravity, metal profile and production
size (assuming 100% utilisation)

Softening Point :
60-80ºC

Melting Point :
85-100ºC

Package :
20kg in plastic lined carton.

Storage :
Store in a dry area at temperature below 25°C.

Shelf Life :
12 months if stored in above condition.

Application :
Electrostatic Spray

Substrate :
Cold rolled steel (0.8mm x 50 x 150) + Zinc – Phosphate

Stoving Schedule :
180°C metal temperature 10 mins

Film Thickness :
60 ~ 80 μm
